Going to the Sun Road - West Glacier

We had a very relaxing morning and did not venture out of the RV until around noon.  We decided to load the dogs into the car and drive the Going to the Sun Road in its entirety.  We had only been on the east side of Logan Pass.  The west side is supposed to be a little more tricky as far as curves, dropoffs and overall white knuckle driving.  Who doesn't want to spend their travel time with white knuckles!  The drive is much more enjoyable when you are hugging the cliff!

We arrived in West Glacier and walked the dogs on the one paved path where dogs are allowed.   We  drove back to St Mary and took a few pictures on the way.

Looking down on the West side of Going to the Sun Rd (on the way back). That's a long drop.

Panaromic view of Logan Pass

Around 10 PM we headed to the St Mary Visitor Center to view the north sky!  Lots and lots of stars!  It was beautiful.  We were also able to view the meteor showers.  We forgot chairs so we laid on the sidewalk and watched the stars. The kid next to us (probably in his early 20's) was so funny.  He said according to his camera there were no stars tonight!  He also indicated his disappointment that his camera flash did not light up the whole sky!  I found it so funny.  He also threatened to become a hissing vampire based on rude people coming and leaving their car lights on (mostly car renters)..too funny.
