Heading to Door County

The weather was 72 degrees (85 to 91 during our stay) when we left Munising. The heat finally broke and we had to pack up on our way to Door County in WI.

We were hitching the car up to the RV after getting fuel and a young pup with collar and broken chain found me. It came from the corner house. I returned the dog and the “owner” was a man with vacancy equivalent to the Unibomber. I cannot describe the man's total void of emotion and the worn down beaten look he had. It didn't look like he ever had a joyous moment in his life. Not one moment. He didn't say a word, just looked at me, looked at the dog, grabbed the broken chain and dragged the dog to a different side of the house. I can only hope the pup breaks loose and finds a real home. Unfortunately, I don't think there is any hope for the man. As a dog lover and softie, I am very fearful I will end up with a stray during the trip!

My deer radar went off during the trip and we avoided hitting a momma and her fawn. Sammy would be proud! He wants my deer radar and monkey arms. Other than that the trip was quite picturesque and easy. We arrived in Door County around 3PM and settled in and enjoyed a quiet (aka boring) evening.
