This is our last day in Munising. We
have really enjoyed the area and would like to stay longer. We are
amazed how there are no crowds for what we would consider peak
season. It truly is unbelieveable with all the natural beauty and
hiking. We did not make it to Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State Park or the Sand Dunes.
We took a drive to Miners Castle and
took the 2 mile trek to Lakeshore. It is beautiful beach area where
you can jump from rocks into lake. We also drove to Sands Point but
our trip was cut short by a thunderstorm.

We can mark experiencing winds and
strong thunderstorm in an open area off the list of things to
experience in RV. It wasn't as bad as I expected (a drizzle sounds
torrential in the RV). I did hear flapping and was wondering what
was going on... looked out window to see next door camper struggling
with their awning. I tried not to giggle too loud but it really is
comical.
For foodies out there we tried Munising
Pasties which were more traditional (more of a pie crust cover), we
preferred the Mackinaw Pasties. They were more like a dumpling in a
weird way. The Munising pasty reminded me of a pot pie with a dry
filling vs soupy (??>.lol)
