We arrived in the Badlands around noon.
It was such a cool experience to drive into the National Park and
BOOM, there are the Badlands. Words and pictures cannot aptly
describe the magnificent landscape. It really does deserve to have
Bad in its name!
Cedar Pass Campground is located in the
park but is first come/first serve beginning at noon. We got a site
with electric (no water or sewer) and drove the loop around the park
to get our bearings. We attended the park Evening Program around
9PM. Tonight's presentation was about the black-footed ferret and
was interesting and very informative. Our main reason for attending
the program was the night sky viewing but the weather was not
cooperative.
We (I) thought we had experienced open
winds off Lake Superior. We were sooo wrong. The storm in SD woke
us up and forced us to put in the slides (afraid the slide toppers
were going to tear). This RV was a rocking!
